Jessica, a junior in high school also a daughter of my classmate in college, is going to her first prom on April 1.

She was so excited to find a lovely dress for this event in her spring break but the dress was not perfectly fitted. We chatted  on FaceTime and I made sure the dress was alterable . Before she returned to her dorm, I picked  her up from the airport and stopped  by my house for a few hours. Then I did  this for her…

 

Jessica,是我大學同學來美國就讀高中的女兒，將在今年四月一號參加她人生第一次的舞會。她在春假期間興奮的找到了一件很棒的禮服，但卻有些不太合身的小瑕疵。我和她在視訊上確認可以修改後，便請她回學校宿舍報到前先來我家停留數小時. 我為她做了這樣的修改⋯

Three choices

三種選擇

1-fold the red triangle part together

1-折掉紅色三角形處

or

或是

2-fold the yellow triangle part together

2-折掉黃色三角形處

or

或是

3-fold blue part to the black skirt

3-折掉藍色三角形，並將折藏於和黑裙交接處

 

 

Either way works very well.

這三種方式都可折掉多餘的鬆垮處

 

 

I chose number 1 for this dress.

我選擇第一種方式

 

There are two layers in the white top part of this dress, mesh on the bottom and flower lace on the top. I tear down the flower lace in two side of triangle areas and then fold the mesh part. Cut out some extra flower laces then resew the laces back. All sewed by hand.

這件禮服白色上衣部分共有兩層，下層是網紗，上層是花形蕾絲。我先將紅色三角形附近的蕾絲先拆掉，再把網紗依紅包三角形份量折掉。剪掉一些多餘的蕾絲花，再把蕾絲花重新縫好。全部以手縫完成。

 

These steps are showing you how to fold the red triangle part on two sides. I find the pin point part when Jessica wear it and that’s how I know the size of the red triangle need to be folded.

 這三個步驟教你如何折紅色三角形處。

當Jessica穿著禮服時，我抓出了多餘的份量，並以安全別針做記號。這就是修改多少份量最重要依據。

p.s. The small red triangle in the arm line maybe need to adjust a little bit too. It depends on the chest size of person.

註解：有時候依個人胸圍尺寸大小，在前袖圍的小紅色三角形處也許也需要折掉一些份量。
