I likes to collect sewing machines , especially the antique one.These 2 Singer
Feather Wight #221 are my collections.
The newer machine that I got it as a gift more than 10 years ago
had it’s own box and parts . The older one that I bought from a garage sale
a few years ago missing some parts,doesn’t have it’s own box. Both of them are
not well function because not used for a long time.
I found someone to fix the machines for my group sewing class. After
added every little things up , the cost higher than I thought. Especially to buy
a box for the old one.
“Why not making my own box for it?” The idea pops out in my mind.
“Yes, go home and do it!”
我喜歡收集縫紉機，尤其是有年代的古董。那兩台勝家輕羽#221是我的寶貝收藏。
比較新的一台是親友10幾年前䡛送給我的禮物，有完整的配套零件及盒子。而較舊的一
台是我幾年前在跳蚤市場買到的，零件並不完整也沒了盒子。兩台都因年久失修而不太
能用。
我為了教縫紉團體班而需要找人修復。在付了修復費用及補齊了零件之後，價格已經超
出預期太多。為舊機買新的盒子更是令人卻步⋯⋯
“為什麼不自己做一個呢？”我突然有了這個想法。
“就這麼做吧！走，回家！”

Steps
步驟
Sew all of free cutting pieces in to a 15″x 42″ piece.
將自由切剪的布片接成一大片約15寸 x42寸的大布片
Using patterns to cut out all shell and padding pieces . The suture allowance is
0.5″.
用版型在大布片上裁出所有的表布及夾層墊，縫份各邊都留0.5寸。
Using same pattern to cut out lining pieces.
同樣的紙型也裁一份裡布。
Using colorful threads to sew freestyle zigzag for shell and pad together.
用各種鮮豔色彩的車線，在接連表布和夾層墊時，以鋸齒形車法自由的發揮。
Front view and back view after zigzagging all pieces.
請欣賞正、反兩面，以鋸齒車法車好夾層墊的表布片。
Connect linings
裡布接好
Connect zipper to the center of the top part. Using blind stitches to connect
lining on 2 side of zipper.
在上片中間接好拉鍊，裡布以藏針縫固定在拉鍊兩側。
The first thin plastic cutting board gives more support on the bottom of this bag.
第一片簿的塑膠切菜板可以支撐底部使其更堅固。

Three matching color cotton fabrics are decorations for the top of this bag.

選三種顏色搭配的棉布做裝飾花，共六個。
Also using these decorations to cover the ending part of the belts.
用同樣的裝飾法可以蓋住帶子尾部的位子。
This is a good example to show you how to make things without spending
money. All the materials are either recycled from old stuff like blanket and
cutting board or free sample fabric books from the home decorating compony.
I am not just saving money from not buying a new bag for my antique sewing
machine also I have fun to design and make my own bag from free materials.
That’s double saving with so much fun!

家裡舊有之物如床罩及切菜板，就是從家飾裝潢公司要來的樣品布。我不僅因爲不用為
縫紉機買新袋子而省錢，而且還用了免費的材料設計及製作自己喜歡的袋子而開心。
省下了雙份開銷呢！
